PIAA Swimming Championships
>This past weekend, two Gateway swimmers competed in the PIAA Swimming Championships at Bucknell University. Hunter Raymer placed 14th in the 200 Individual Medley and 10th in the 500 Freestyle, breaking his own school record in that event. Gunner Raymer placed 23rd in the 200 Freestyle achieving a season best time. Congratulations to Hunter and Gunner and all of the swim team members for their successes this swim season! >

Congratulations To Our Bocce Team Placing 3rd in the Region!
Out of over 50 teams in the Western Region of Pennsylvania, Gateway finished 3rd in the region by going 2-1 in the 2025 Regional Interscholastic Unified Bocce Championships, held at Geneva College. Congratulations to all bocce players, fans and supporters for a tremendously successful 2024-2025 season. >

Swimming Championship Updates
Last weekend, At the WPIAL Swimming Championships, Hunter Raymer placed 6th in both the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle. Gunner Raymer placed 8th in the 200 Free and 9th in the 100 Breaststroke while Aliya Rassiane placed 6th in the 50 free and 8th in the 100 butterfly. Owen Echegaray placed 11th in the 100 butterfly. Good luck goes out to Hunter, Gunner, and Aliya who all advanced to the PIAA State Championships next weekend at Bucknell University.

Bowling Western Regional Championships
The Gateway Bowling Gators had a tremendous weekend at the Western Regional Championships on March 7th and 9th. On Friday Chase Owens qualified 6th with a 1052 for five games. Punching his ticket to the State Championships. On Sunday, the team was not to be outdone, qualifying 4, falling to the eventual Champion Thomas Jefferson in the quarter finals and punching their ticket to States. The Gators were led by Chase Owens who bowled a 681 series and made the all tournament team. State Championships are on March 14th and 15th. >

Varsity Ice Hockey Game Recap 2/25/25
Gateway Gators – 5Connellsville Falcons- 3 The Gateway Gators faced off against the Connellsville Falcons in a playoff deciding game for the Gators. Not only was this the final regular season game for both teams, but a win would solidify a playoff spot for the Gators in the 2025 D2 Varsity Penguins Cup. Gateway quickly pounced on the Falcons by scoring 2 goals in the first period. Gavin Grant scored the game’s first goal just 3 minutes in, off of a beautiful passing play by senior captain Connor Evans and Canyon Hines. Hines scored 10 minutes later on another nice setup from Evans and Grant. The 3rd place Falcons battled back by scoring at the end of the first period and the game’s only 2nd period goal. Just like the Gators had started the game, the boys came out fast and proceeded to score 2 consecutive powerplay goals to start the 3rd period to take another 2 goal lead. Bocce Team Advances in Playoffs
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BOCCE TEAM on winning the Division on Monday! Both teams crushed the competition with one team coming in 1st place and the other team in 3rd place! The 1st place team will head to the regional competition on Monday March 10th for a chance to make it to the state level competition! Congrats to all members of the bocce team for the victory and we will be cheering you on as you continue your playoff run! >

Varsity Ice Hockey Game Recaps
Recent Varsity Ice Hockey Game recaps!2/10/2025The Gateway Gators are battling for a spot in the 2025 PIHL D2 Varsity Playoff Tournament. Only the top 2 teams in each division along with 2 wildcard spots can qualify to make the playoffs. The Gators find themselves in the last wildcard spot as they faced off against a division rival Ringgold Rams. The 8-6-0-0 Rams are 3rd in the division and are ahead of the Gators in the standing and playoff race. This game was extremely physical and close all the way to the end. The Rams scored the game’s first goal, but Connor Olson scored ona pass from Beau Ritson and Connor Evans with just 32 seconds remaining in the 2nd period to tie it up. While killing a penalty late in the 3rd period, Connor Evans setup Beau Ritson for the go ahead shorthanded goal to take the lead. Congratulations to varsity wrestlers Braden Washington, TJ Mitchell, and Donovan DeLuco for placing in the Eastern Sectional Tournament, and qualifying for the WPIAL wrestling tournament. Also congratulations to Andrew Gabrial for winning the 250 pound weight class of the WPIAL Jr. High tournament.

Boys Varsity BaseballScrimmage against Shaler was a good measuring stick for the program. One tough inning defined this game. Overall Gateways pitchers threw strikes and defended well. The bats will need to wake up for this team to find success. There were a lot of positives to take away from this pre season scrimmage.
